Simultaneous Allocation and Scheduling of Quay Cranes, Yard Cranes, and Trucks in Dynamical Integrated Container Terminal Operations

We present a dynamical modeling of integrated (end-to-end) container terminal operations using finite state machine (FSM) framework where each is represented by discrete-event system (DES) formulation. The hybrid model incorporates the quay cranes (QC), internal trucks (IT), and yard (YC) also selection storage positions in (CY) vessel bays. QC YC are connected IT our models. As opposed to commonly adapted operations, which entire information/inputs systems known for defined planning horizon, this research we use real-time trucks, crane, information, always updated as time evolves. shows that predicted variables closely follow actual field data from Tanjung Priuk, Jakarta, Indonesia. Subsequently, model, proposed predictive algorithm (MPA) obtain near-optimal solution problem, namely simultaneous allocation scheduling QC, IT, YC, well selecting location inbound outbound containers CY vessel. numerical experiment based on extensive Monte Carlo simulation real dataset show MPA outperforms 3-6% both policies currently implemented operator state-of-the-art method current literature.
